Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity has their annual Rake-a-thon coming up November 6,7, and 8 and are looking for volunteers. Members can either volunteer individually or in teams of 4 to 6.  If anyone would be interested they can email Bridget at rake@uwhabitat.org. Attached I will have the flyer for the event. Also, email me back if you are able to attend

The shifts are Friday, Saturday, Sunday Novembers 6,7,and 8 from 8am-Noon and 1pm-5pm.

Monona Bay (FOMB) Monthly Shoreline Clean-up

Held on the second Saturday of every month, work along the Monona Bay shoreline as well as in Brittingham Park to pick up trash. The City provides plenty of trash bags and disposable latex gloves.  They have several grabbers and lots of buckets, too

Meet at the Brittingham Beach House
701 W. Brittingham Place
(corner of Proudfit and W. Brittingham Place)

The Brittingham Beach House is a very comfortable walk from just about anywhere on campus.  People park in the neighborhood all the time for Badger football games.  It is a straight shot down Regent Street, which turns into Proudfit at W. Washington Ave.  The sequence of streets after that is Main Street, which dead-ends into Brittingham Park and W. Brittingham Park where the Beach House is located.  There is also a parking lot there.

Child Care at the Eagle Heights Community Center

WHAT: Childcare At Eagle Heights
LOCATION: Eagle Heights Community Center
TRANSPORTATION: Route 80 from downtown/campus to Eagle Heights
WHEN: Varies by event...

Eagle Heights Transportation: Take the 80 bus from Memorial Union (on the Park St. side of the building). Be there around 5:00pm. (You can ask the bus driver where you should get off.)  Eagle heights can be a little confusing.  But here are directions anyway: get off at the 600's/Community Center bus stop (it's two bus stops after the brown bus shelter). Once you get off the bus, you will walk up a hill, and you'll see the Community Center up to your left.  It will be in room 135 and 139 of the Community Center.
